FLOOD DESTROYS 115 HOUSES IN SOKOTO

The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has said flood ha destroyed 115 houses at Butuku-Babba village in bodniga L.G.A of sokoto state.
Nobody Died, but the flood killed 25 livestock and destroyed farmlands and foodstuffs.
Briefing reporters yesterday on disaster, which occurred o 25th June, the DG. of SEMA, Alhaji Hassan Maccido, said the agency has dispatched a technical team to the village and had assessed the extent of the damage.
He said it was based o the teams report that a memorandum was sent to Governor Aminu Tambuwal for the provision of relief materials to the victims.
The Governor has approved money, which we will use to buy
the items as soon as possible.
Maccido urged the victims to be patient with the government, as it would soon come to their rescue.
The victims lamented that 13 days after the disaster, only one businessman town, Alhaji Sahabi Bojo, had assisted them with N200,000.
Alhaji Magaji Malam, the hamlet head of the area, and another victim, Malam Barmo Abubakar, solicited assistance from the three tiers of government and and emergency management agencies.
