police yesterday stormed the election petition tribunal in Akure, the Ondo State capital. to arrest two lawmakers from ilaje Constituency 1 and II.The detectives claimed that they were ordered from Abuja to arrest Malachi Coker and Abayomi Akinruntan, who are members of the peoples democratic party (PDP).
The lawmakers, were said to have been sworn in by the speaker, Ms Jumoke Akindele, without certificate of return.
The speaker, it was gathered, had to mobilise other lawmakers to intervene in the matter,
The lawmakers were, however, not arrested, Sources said there is immunity in the court, stressing that they could only be arrested on the Streets.
